Renowned Gikuyu vernacular presenter, Njogu Wa Njoroge, has joined Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
The media personality, who has declared his interest in the Njoro parliamentary seat, was unveiled on Thursday, January 20.
Ruto's allies lauded Njoroge for the move and wished him the best in his political career.
"Kazi ni kazi Njogu Wa Njoroge. You are a great and highly talented son of Rurii. Wishing you the best in your political endeavours. Karibu sana bro," Kiharu Member of Parliament, Ndindi Nyoro, wrote.

Njogu survived a purge by Mediamax Limited Network in October 2019 when Kameme TV retrenched most of its employees.
He later tendered his resignation and was hired back for the radio channel, a station he is most familiar with.
After joining Kameme FM from KBC in the 2000s, he rose from a sports presenter to a morning show host before joining Royal Media Services' Inooro FM in 2006.
