The family of slain Harambee Stars superfan Isaac Juma, has revealed his last moments before he met his death on Wednesday night, January 26.
His wife Farida Juma, who spoke to the media at their Mumias home, stated that the family was in the house having dinner when they heard noises from the animal shed.
Farida stated that her husband was curious why the animals were making noise at night and opted to go check on them.
According to Farida, Juma walked out of the house and found his assailants waiting for him next to a tree in the family compound.
"He had the sheep crying outside and decided to go and check on them. He opened the door and walked out and I heard noises, someone yelled.
"I got out of the house and found one of the men butchering him. The assailants then fled leaving him fighting for his life," Farida stated.
According to the police, Juma’s brother and son rushed out when they heard the commotion, only to find him lying in a pool of blood.
Family members and close friends claimed that the late Juma had reported to the police that some people were threatening his life.
Farida claimed that a close relative of Juma wanted him dead over a land dispute.
Juma had also told the press last year that one of his close family members wanted to grab his two-acre parcel of land.
His family called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to probe the matter and revealed that in the past, five of his cows had been stolen.
Juma was a Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards loyalist since 1980. His presence in every soccer match was conspicuous as he dyed his hair to resemble the specific team he was supporting at the moment.
He would also paint his body and cover his trunk with the colours of the Kenyan national flag with his face bearing white markings, a colour that represents peace in the national flag.
During matches, Juma had his own secluded stand where he would cheer the team from.
He would also grace different national celebrations like Jamhuri Day, Madaraka Day, and Labour Day.
