Former NTV news anchor, Daniel Mule, has landed a new job as a Communication and Advocacy Specialist at the Africa Medical Research Foundation (AMREF).
Mule took to his social media to highlight the next phase of his career while thanking the Nation Media Group (NMG) for the decade tenure at the Kimathi Street-based media house.
"Transitions are never easy, especially after working with colleagues who are like family. Once more I thank the Nation Media Group family for making my last 10 years amazing. Though saying goodbye hasn’t been easy, time has said it for us. I move to the next chapter of my life knowing I have friends I once called colleagues," he stated.
The former news anchor, ecstatic about the new journey, noted that his background in media would aide him in his new path.
"I am excited to be starting a new adventure in my professional life. I trust the faithful God who has led me throughout my time in mainstream media to guide me as I explore the world of Communications and Advocacy.
"It was a great honor to work at a company that serves as an industry leader in Media in Africa; allowing employees to grow in their career. I am proud of what I accomplished in the various roles I served and the invaluable lessons and connections I made. Let's do this AMREF!" he pointed out.
Further, a photo posted on social media of the journalist standing outside United Nations offices had elicited debate on his possible next move.
Mule, however, confirmed to Kenyans.co.ke that his new post at AMREF meant that he would work closely with the UN Women and State Department for Gender.
The announcement comes a month after he announced his departure from Nation Media Group on Friday, December 31.
"I thank God for the opportunity to work at this station. I got this dream of working as an anchor while doing menial jobs at NCPB in Nakuru.
"The same God who gave me that dream, made it come to fruition hence I say to where there's a will, there's a way," he stated while giving his remarks on his final bulletin.
Before the media industry, Mule's journey began at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) in Nakuru where he was tasked with carrying sacks of maize.
He, however, ended up applying for work as a writer at Taifa Leo and the Nation newspaper. Mule, later on, moved up the corporate ladder and became a full-time news anchor at NTV.
