A warrant of arrest has been issued against Nairobi's B-Club billionaire who was accused of defying court orders.
The Environment and Land Court ruled that the club was up and running despite an order directing the businessman to shut it down.
Justice Loice Komingoi directed Kilimani OCS to spearhead the manhunt for the owner who will be arraigned in court to answer the charges.
The judge further noted that the foreign tycoon was also in contempt of court after he failed to show up for a proceeding on February 15.
"I am satisfied that the continued operation of the business of B-club in the absence of any orders suspending 2019 decision from the Court of Appeal amounts to contempt," the judge ruled.
"Since the complaint was lodged and order issued, the club has reportedly has not ceased its operations," she added.
The latest order follows another complaint lodged by residents of Kilimani area over noise pollution.
“The clubs were in contravention of the EMCA (Noise and excessive vibration pollution) control regulations 2009,” the judge underlined.
In 2019, the court directed the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and the County Government of Nairobi to revoke the club's licence.
Other nightclubs that were affected by the order included Kiza Lounge, Space, and Explorers Tavern.
In the previous hearing, B-Club argued that it obtained a licence and complied with city by-laws.
