Ex-Hot 96 Presenter Lands Job at NTV

Media personality cum actress, Nancy Wanjiru, famously known as Shix Kapienga has landed a new role at NTV.

In a post she shared on Thursday, March 24, Kapienga, who lost her job at Hot 96 in June 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, will now be hosting a weekend entertainment show Jamdown.

She will be hosting the show alongside Nicholas Mugo Mwangi, better known as Ruffest Dj Moh.

The Reggae show will air every Saturday from 10pm to midnight.  Shix Kapienga replaces Stella Katiwa, popularly known as Miss Katiwa, who announced her exit after a four-year stint at the Kimathi Street-based media house.

While revealing her new role at Nation Media Group-owned media station, Shix Kapienga noted that she will be featuring in a radio show on Nation FM every Saturday.

Kapienga's experience stems from her radio career, TV shows and film production. She is also sought after for emceeing events.

She made her debut in TV on Beba Beba Show, which aired on NTV where she played the role of Tasha. The show exposed her to more platforms and increased her fanbase.

Kapienga later got roles in Shuga, Papa Shirandula, and Nairobi Half-Life.

At Hot 96 she was the host of the Dropzone show with co-host Rapcha the Sayantist.

Her departure from Hot 96 FM was clouded with a lot of controversies. The social media sensation noted that she was shocked to learn of her retrenchment in June 2020.

"It is not like I have achieved what I needed to achieve at a certain age, but I’m not complaining, but it was too abrupt.

"I know I wanted to resign, call it quits, but I did not expect it that soon," she stated during an interview with Adelle Onyango on her Legally Clueless podcast.
