A Kenyan man has been jailed for life in the United States of America after he was found guilty of murder.
According to multiple sources from the US, the Kenyan was found guilty of the murder of an 81-year-old woman.
The ruling was delivered by Judge Raquel ‘Rocky’ Jones on Friday, April 29, who sentenced the 41-year-old to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The Kenyan man who is reported to be from Eldama Ravine in Baringo County has been indicted on 18 counts of murder while posing as an employee at a retirement community in Dallas.
He was also accused of allegedly stealing jewelry, cash, and other valuables from other victims in the US.
The court was told that the Kenyan man allegedly murdered the woman on March 20, 2018. A jewelry box and a set of keys placed him at the scene of the murder.
Judge Jones heard that police recovered several items, including keys, bags of jewelry, and a Kenyan passport from the suspect's car.
The police corroborated the evidence by disclosing that the Kenyan man was found throwing some items in a garbage bin on that fateful day.
They also explained that they recovered a pillow stained with lipstick that matched the victim's, and that she had lipstick smeared across her face.
However, a lawyer who was representing the Kenyan man faulted the verdict.
"We respect the verdict of the jury. I don’t just agree with it," the lawyer stated.
The family of the victim received the news with relief stating that justice has been finally served.
He left the country in 2003 to seek employment in the US. At that time, her sister operated an elderly home where he got his first job.
It was later reported that he fell out with his sister and started home service between 2014 and 2016.
