New details have emerged on the man who was gunned down in broad daylight along Mirema Drive in the Kasarani area by unknown assailants. According to police, the shooting was a possible case of vengeance.

Detectives probing the case say they collected several identity cards and money in different currencies from the victim's vehicle, signalling the possibility of a deal gone wrong

"It is difficult to comprehend how heartless human beings can become, whether it is vengeance or any other reason, it is impossible to comprehend, because nothing was stolen from the victim," Kasarani OCPD, Peter Mwanzo, stated.

According to the police who combed the scene of the incident, the seven ID cards collected belonged to different people and were stashed in six wallets.

Phones and laptops believed to have been stolen were also recovered from the vehicle.

The police are also investigating a case involving stupefying of victims after a woman whose identity card was recovered from the victim's vehicle noted that she lost a sum of Ksh200,000 after being drugged in an entertainment joint.

The 40-year-old father of three is reported to have dropped a woman in the area before being accosted by the gunman on his way out. The police are piecing together evidence in an effort to identify the shooter and the motive behind the ruthless killing.

"We were able to identify four shots that killed the victim on the spot. Fortunately, the neighbours managed to pick the number plates of the getaway vehicle and this is the information we are pursuing and shortly we will be able to catch up with him," Mwanzo stated.

According to the CCTV footage captured at around 1.57pm on Monday, a man in a cap and coat was recorded approaching a Honda CRV and pulling out what appears to be a pistol before opening fire.

A woman across the road is seen running for her dear life as gunshots rent the air. Determined to finish the mission, the man pulls the last bullet before running towards a vehicle that had blocked the road and takes off.

The whole mission is executed in a span of just 45 seconds.

An autospy on the victim's body conducted at the City Mortuary revealed that he died as a result of multiple bullet wounds.

The victim's vehicle was towed to Kasarani Police Station with analysis revealing that the car is registered to a different person who is helping with investigations.
