The Kenyan tourism sector continues to thrive globally after a luxurious villa at the heart of Borana Conservancy was ranked among the best spots worldwide.
On Wednesday, June 7, Lengishu Ranch, which is a luxurious family home that can accommodate 12 guests at a time, was named among the best villas worldwide by Travel + Leisure Magazine.
"Lengishu has six bedrooms set within four cottages, and offers fishing and mountain biking in addition to the usual safari game drives," read the review in the world-famous travel magazine.
The high-end facility only accepts guests who spend a minimum of three nights in the villa which rises to four over Christmas and New Year period.
In the peak season, which runs between June 15 and September 15 as well as December 20, 2022 - January 5, 2023, the villa charges Ksh1.16 million (USD10,000) for a group of six which is then compounded by an additional Ksh81,900 (USD700) per every additional adult member and Ksh40,950 (USD350) per additional child.
In low peak season, the facility charges Ksh1.05 million for a group of six with the additional charges staying the same as per age of the guest.
With the high value, the facility promises top-of-the-range experiences including excellent “Big 5” private game viewing, horse riding, walking safaris and tracking black and white rhinos on foot.
"Lengishu is an exclusive-use six-bedroom family home sleeping a maximum of 12 guests in unparalleled luxury at the heart of Borana Conservancy, Kenya’s newest ad most successful rhino sanctuary," reads a statement from the villa.
The villa has an infinity pool and a state-of-the-art gym with ultra-modern equipment for the benefit of its guests.
Its main house and cottages are decorated with curios that include upcycled dhows, 18th-century tapestries and wooden traveling trunks.
The management also notes that it is driven by the sustainability of the environment and uses solar power.
"The primary focus was to make as little impact on the surroundings as possible by using sustainable and local building materials. Our vision was to create an authentic Kenyan home, all the while providing the upmost in luxury and style," explains the villa as its driving factor.
