Kenyans on social media who interacted with the video noted the motorist putting other road users to very serious dangers, with other arguing that human error was the biggest challenge to road safety in the country.

Members of the public called on the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to revoke the license of the motorist, opining that the driver should not be allowed on Kenyan roads.

"If the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and National Police Service will not take action on this driver, never talk about road safety because you will be pretending and not walking the talk.

"See how this driver is risking the lives of many drivers along busy Thika Road by driving on the wrong side of the road, people are rebuking the devil on our roads due to many crashes but the problem is not the devil, it's human error," the user who shared the video wrote.

In the comment section, Kenyans also blamed authorities for allegedly not doing enough to punish road users who put lives of other motorists in danger.

The uproar comes amid a series of accidents over the weekend where over 25 lives were lost in separate road crashes. The most gruesome accident occurred at Taru in Kwale County on Friday evening, July 8, where 18 people died.

On Friday morning, another accident claimed the lives of 4 people along the Nairobi - Nakuru highway.

Following the two accidents, police warned motorists to be careful during the cold season owing to the misty and foggy conditions being experienced in the country.

The disaster management unit head at police headquarters, Duncan Ochieng, noted that the poor weather conditions distract the drivers' vision.
