A rogue tout, parking boys and their matatu Sacco are in the spotlight for throwing a commuter from their moving PSV.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the tout was spotted dragging the passenger before the bus halted and threw him into a drainage ditch.
The passenger, who got on his feet, confronted the tout only to be pushed back as the matatu sped away.
The cause of their altercation was, however, not disclosed.
Sikika Road Safety led in condemning the incident and asked the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to take action on the Sacco.
"If you (NTSA) will not take action on these people, then you don't need to be talking about road safety in this country," the road safety advocates stated.
A section of Kenyans also demanded action be taken against the vehicle. Most shared the notion that regardless of what the passenger did, throwing him out of the bus was tantamount to risking his life.
Some opined that the bus dropped a passenger at an undesignated stop thus breaking traffic laws.
In 2021, 26-year-old Judy Wanjiku Nyaga succumbed to injuries after she was thrown out of a moving vehicle on the Thika-Nairobi Highway.
According to Juja OCPD Dorothy Migarisha, Judy, and one other victim were pushed out of the vehicle after a disagreement ensued over the fare.
The matatu driver allegedly also wanted to run over the victims. Juja residents, however, intervened and saved the trio.
The matatu was impounded and a manhunt was launched for the tout and driver.
