Moja Expressway, the company managing operations of the Nairobi Expressway has flagged advertisement posters announcing the mass recruitment of toll operators as fake.

In a statement dated Tuesday, August 30, Moja Expressway termed the posters as a scam, further urging Kenyans to disregard them.

Moja Expressway acknowledged that the posters had gone viral on social media warning that many may have fallen to the scam scheme.

In their statement, the expressway management maintained that they were not undertaking any recruitment at the moment.

Further, Kenyans were advised to acquaint themselves with the Nairobi Expressway website where job vacancies are advertised.

"Please be advised that Moja Expressway has not partnered with any job sites to post vacancies. For the latest job updates visit www(dot)nairobiexpressway(dot)ke or any of our social media pages.

"All applications are sent through our website and we don't charge any fees," read the statement in part.

In the fake advertisement, it was announced that the management of President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy project was in need of 50 toll attendants with applicants required to have a minimum education qualification of a diploma.

The fake job adverts started circulation on social media platforms after there was an online uproar among motorists who called on the management to hire more staff to deal with increasing traffic on the 27-kilometre road.

Some had alleged that the traffic had been occasioned by the mass firing of toll attendants. However, the claims were dismissed by Moja Expressway.

This was in the wake of a traffic snarl-up witnessed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) exit.

"It was disappointing at the JKIA exit this morning around 7 am to find only one MTC booth in operation. Those extra minutes queuing are crucial when trying to catch a flight," Sharry Berry lamented on Twitter.

The issue at the JKIA exit has been sorted. Apologies for the delay," Moja Expressway responded.
