They further noted that the Supreme Court ruling had validate his efforts despite facing a fierce challenge from one of the Presidential contenders Raila Odinga.

"We pray for continued peace and calm in Kenya and coming days and weeks.," the AAEA statement added.

In the August 9 General Election, Chebukati announced William Ruto as the President-elect to the chagrin of four of his commissioners who argued that he operated in an opaque manner

The decision also incensed Odinga who filed the petition alleging widespread malpractices in how the exercise was conducted.

In the petition he filed alongside his Running mate Martha Karua, Raila demanded to either be declared President-elect or have the election nullified.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court, however, upheld the IEBC election on the basis that the petitioner presented flimsy evidence in an attempt to nullify the election.
