Police are investigating how a British national mysteriously lost Ksh4 million cash in Lang'ata, Nairobi county.

A report by Nation indicated that the foreigner, Patrick John McCaffey, left his home in Kilimani alongside his wife with the money in tow.

The duo were taken to Galleria Business Club where they confirmed that they had money in different currency bills.

After staying at the club for a while, they opted to leave when they noticed that they did not have the bag with them.

After frantic searches and combing CCTV surveillance, it was established that two women had accessed the cash and left the club with the bag.

“The foreigner was heading to Galleria Business Club together with his wife for lunch…(he placed) a travelling bag between him and the wife while seated,” the Newspaper quoted a police report at Hardy Police Station.

This comes barely two weeks after a matatu tout, who was in the company of four other individuals, accosted a Nairobi businessman and stole his possessions valued at Ksh1 million.

The tycoon lost his Ceska pistol valued at Ksh 600,000, a gold chain worth Ksh300,000 and a phone worth Ksh120,000 in the melee.

The victim claimed that he was waylaid after casting his vote and was heading to his car to wait for his daughters.

While waiting, he stepped out to make a phone call when the tout and four other individuals reportedly accosted him.

In the months leading to the General Election, robbery cases were on the rise triggering the police to mount a sting operation to flush out suspected attackers majorly in Nakuru and Nairobi areas.

In Nakuru, one of the most affected regions, the police launched a manhunt that led to the arrest of several individuals believed to be part of numerous gangs including one called 'Confirmed'.
