While waiting, he stepped out to make a phone call when the tout and four other individuals reportedly accosted him.

Police arrested the tout and arraigned him in court. The case will be mentioned on September 13.

The incident comes roughly a month after a tycoon from Nyeri was shot at and robbed of Ksh1.3 million cash.

In the August 1 incident, the businessman was said to be ferrying the money to the bank when he was ambushed by a gang of three youths on a motorcycle.

The three armed men demanded the package from the businessman leading to a confrontation among them.

In the months leading to the General Election, robbery cases were on the rise triggering the police to mount a sting operation to flush out suspected robbers majorly in Nakuru and Nairobi areas.

In Nakuru, one of the most affected regions, the police mounted a security operation that led to the arrest of several individuals believed to be part of numerous gangs including one called 'Confirmed'.
