"Alright, everybody welcome back to Rauka, just a few minutes to the top of the hour. We will continue with our programming but we are having a slight technical hitch on our TV signal. However, we are live on YouTube. If you know someone who is watching the show using the TV signal, encourage them to hop onto our Citizen TV live channel on Youtube where they will be able to catch up with everything that is happening," she stated.

At the time of publishing this article, the signal had paused for twenty minutes before abruptly going into full colour bars.

The hitch lasted for close to an hour before the signal was restored.

A section of the viewers had taken note of the pause, with the majority taking to social media to point out the issue.

Others wondered why the transmission only affected Citizen TV and not Inooro TV or any other ADN channels.

"Check your transmissions as you have paused on my TV for like 10 minutes now..nothing is showing on my TV,"James Britam stated.

"The signal has been very intermittent for weeks and the pictures are pixilated and breaking up," read some of the comments online," noted Ruth Mallinson.

Transmission Signals

A manager at Royal Media Services who previously spoke to Kenyans.co.ke, revealed that glitches and technical hitches emanated from the satellite station in Nakuru, affecting ADN decoder users among other channels.

At the time, both Citizen TV, NTV and Inooro TV stations had abruptly gone off air for about 15 minutes duing prime time

"It was just a technical failure. We share some facilities at Limuru. There is a transmitting station in Limuru. That might affect because it comes from ADN TV," the source stated.

Dominance

Citizen TV shares the majority piece of the cake as it still maintained its lead as the most viewed station, according to a report titled State of the Media 2021 by the Media Council of Kenya.

Citizen TV registered a 78 per cent popularity among the respondents, followed by KTN Home (31 per cent) and NTV (27 per cent), which came in second and third respectively.
