Another Kenyan who was awarded was Kenya Defence Forces Major, Diana Naker, who was among the first female pilots in the military.

Naker narrated the struggles and hurdles she had to overcome before joining KDF's fighter jet flying unit.

She also beat all the odds and challenges experienced by locals in her county, Turkana, from drought to rampant bandit attacks.

Human Rights defender Grace Ngugi also made it to the list of winners.

Mwanamke Bomba Network

Mwanamke Bomba Network is a brainchild of the Citizen TV anchor. She started the initiative to celebrate Kenyans who make a mark in different sectors of the country.

Mwanahamisi launched the network to run in tandem with the Mwanamke Bomba TV segment, which premiered on Citizen TV in 2018.

"The initiative recognises the high moments, lows and lessons learnt as we reward exemplary women who have made the journey worthy," she stated.

Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, Kilifi Deputy Governor Flora Chibule, Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi, and Busia Woman representative Catherine Omanyo among others, graced the event.

Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) appreciated Mwanahamisi's efforts in advocating for equality and representation in the country.
