The National Police Service (NPS) has taken administrative action against an armed police officer who disrupted operations at a local bank.

NPS, on Saturday, October 22, condemned the cop's actions as reckless and worth risking public lives.

It also distanced itself from the behaviour of the police officer, noting that it did not represent its core values.

"NPS is seized of a matter circulating on social media where an armed police officer in uniform is seen behaving in a rowdy and threatening manner within the premises of a local bank.

"The service has already taken remedial action and the matter is being handled administratively," declared NPS.

Additionally, NPS noted the behaviour of the police officer threatened those on the bank's premises.

In the amateur video recorded by a customer at the bank, the police officer, in the company of a colleague, was seen angrily pacing the premises and yelling at a teller.

He then banged his phone countless times on the teller's desk before walking away, shouting inaudibly at the bank.

The unruly officer further threw his hat, picked it up, and then kicked at the wall. His colleague, however, seemed calm and unbothered by the behaviour.

"I want my phone. Give me my phone," he kept ranting.

In the close to two-minute video, the bank tellers and customers were calm as the police officer threw a tantrum.
