President William Ruto will on Thursday morning, October 27, host Members of Parliament at State House to assess the progress of the government's legislative agenda.

Reports indicated that part of the agenda will include the approval process of government policies and expenditure plans as well as evaluating the proposed Ksh50 billion Hustler's Fund.

The meeting is also set to end the standoff among the lawmakers in selecting the chair of four crucial House Committees; Administration and National Security, Energy, Blue Economy and Transport and Mining.

The legislators will also deliberate on key strategies for improving their contribution toward the government agenda.

In addition, Ruto's Cabinet appointees will be sworn in on Thursday, October 27, after the 24 names were approved by the National Assembly - they include 22 Cabinet Secretaries, Attorney General Justin Muturi and Secretary to the Cabinet, Mercy Wanjau.

The names were gazetted by the Head-of-State under a special issue dated Wednesday, October 26.

The meeting is set to be the third Parliamentary Group meeting since President Ruto ascended to the top throne.

In September 2022, Ruto chaired a PG meeting in Naivasha that deliberated leadership positions in the Senate and National Assembly.

In addition, the meeting deliberated on how the government would implement its manifesto with the key focus highlighting strategies to lower the cost of living.

"When we say agriculture can lift our economy, we mean productivity. We have agreed that with appropriate interventions, we can increase our productivity without increasing the acreage of the land we are using.

"We have agreed on how agriculture will be used to spur our agro-processing, value addition all the way to manufacturing and job creation," Ruto stated at the time.
