President William Ruto excited his newly sworn-in Cabinet after he adjusted Trade Cabinet Secretary, Moses Kuria's, suit at State House, Nairobi.

Kuria later shook hands with the head of state, on Thursday, October 27, appreciating his nomination and subsequent swearing-in.

It was during the handshake, which occurred for nearly a minute, that Ruto noted that Kuria's side pocket was tucked in.

The head of state untucked the pocket suit to the delight of the CSs and other attendees.

A coat's pocket flap often ends up tucked inside the pocket as it is a soft piece of cloth. One can look sloppy if one flap is tucked in and the other is not.

Ruto joined the CSs in laughter as he congratulated Kuria for taking an oath of office.

The CS then exchanged pleasantries with the Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, and First Lady Rachel Ruto before taking his seat.

Kuria was sworn in alongside 21 other Cabinet Secretaries who were approved by the National Assembly Committee on Appointments.

The new Trade CS immediately succeeded Betty Maina, who managed the docket under former President, Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a trade event in October 2022, Ruto exuded confidence in Kuria as one of the key players in uplifting the economy.

"I am happy that Moses is here. I have confidence in what Moses can do, I know he has a good brain.

"This Moses Kuria, forget about the noise sometimes he makes. I promise you, he is a good brain," Ruto stated.

The former lawmaker reiterated the same during his vetting, promising to focus on his work and assist Ruto in securing his legacy.

"Any perceived extremism or divisiveness on my part has been shaped by the kind of political culture we've had. Going forward, I will ensure that we have a culture where political competition is not enmity," he pledged.
