A fire razed down a dormitory at Teremi High School in Bungoma on Tuesday, October 1.

Firefighters were immediately deployed to the scene to contain the fire after it broke out.

In images seen by Kenyans.co.ke, firefighters were seen struggling to put off the fire, which engulfed the whole building.

The cause of the fire was not yet ascertained by the time of publishing.

However, eyewitnesses claimed that the furnace was caused by an electrical fault.

No casualties were, however, reported from the fire.

Immediately after the fire broke out, a group of alumni students swung into action to rescue the school through donations and aid.

The former students, through different avenues, urged well-wishers to donate money to construct another dormitory.

Earlier in the morning, another fire was reported at Jamhuri High School in Nairobi.

The cause of the fire was also not disclosed. Nonetheless, investigations into the furnace commenced.

Meanwhile, on October 22, a pupil died after a fire broke out in Adu Blossom Day and Boarding School in Nyakach, Kisumu County.

The increasing cases of fires razing down schools have been a major concern with police attributing several incidents to arson.
