Two thugs who stabbed a Nairobi resident to death during an armed robbery staged in upmarket Ridgeways estate dared the police to go after them.
Speaking on Sunday, November 6, the victim's family divulged that the assailants continued using the deceased's phone days after the crime and did not fidget when the police called the line.
The family recounted how the thieves went chest-thumping about committing the crime when a cop from the Muthaiga Police station, where they had reported the case dialled the victim's mobile number.

"When one of the police officers called the line, he found that it was on. One of the thieves picked up and said, "yes, it is us, what are you going to do about it? (mtado?)," one relative stated.
The family complained about the laxity of the police officers in investigating the murder stating that they should have traced the phone to the killers.
"We request the police and the government to please put an end to this. We have cried enough!" the mother stated.
Nairobi Regional Commander James Kigera stated that a contingent of police officers had been deployed to smoke out the gangsters from their hideouts.
The murder is among three linked to boda boda riders in the last fortnight. On October 27, Arnold was gunned down by robbers at a bus stop along Waiyaki Way.
A second victim of the trigger-happy duo was shot dead in Donholm moments after depositing money at a local bank, with ballistic reports linking the two incidents.
So far, three suspects were apprehended in connection with the crimes and are currently being held under police custody where they are being questioned.
The spate of murders has raised concerns among Nauroibi residents who have demanded the National Police Service to address the menace.
A section have also demanded for a fresh crackdown on the boda boda sector to weed out the criminals.
