Parties attending a court session in a magistrates court in Kakamega were treated to a comical relief on Friday, November 11, after a suspect confessed to stealing a cow to impress his lover.

Love indeed goes the extra mile, but for this instance, cupid arrows struck past their limit for the suspect.

Like in Joeboy and Nandy's song, Number One, the suspect did a bad 'thing' for his lover and not for her.

In a hilarious liberal cocktail dose of alternative facts against himself, the accused left the courtroom in stitches when he narrated how his love life had dropped him into a rabbit hole.

In his quest to show his devotion and dedication, the process of luring his girlfriend into marriage took a wrong turn after he settled on a neighbour's fat cow.

Presiding Magistrate Dolphin Alego was left with glittery tears when the accused claimed that he sold the cow for a paltry Ksh20,000.

The now famous Kakamega 'gentleman' then embarked on a scathingly unworthy endeavour, as indicated by Citizen Digital

He fetched the largest possible bag at the nearby market centre and filled it with assorted gifts.

On that day, he was going to propose to his sweetheart, who hails from Isulu village in Ikolomani, Kakamega County.

Sadly so, his actions left a bitter taste in the mouth of his neighbour at Burendwa village. As the neighbour searched for her precious cow, the suspect pondered the prospect of convincing his lover to move in with him.

The embattled neighbour later established that the accused was the sole reason behind her cow's disappearance. Local authorities staggered around the village and apprehended the suspect before he pleased his girlfriend.

At the courtroom, the prosecution, led by Dennis Wasilwa, was forced to interrupt the free-for-all drama briefly.

Wasilwa asked the court to direct medics to conduct a mental assessment of the suspect.

Presiding Magistrate Alego, who could not stop laughing, willingly agreed to the request and ordered the exercise to be conducted at the Kakamega Referral Hospital.

The case will be mentioned on Thursday, November 17.
