The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced changes in the recruitment of over 35,000 teachers recruitment.
Through its Twitter platform on Saturday, December 17, TSC extended the deadline to December 23, 2022.
"TSC has reviewed the roadmap for the Recruitment of Teachers and Teacher Interns.
"The deadline for submission of applications has been extended to Friday, December 23," TSC announced.
In the initial notice, TSC had set the deadline for Friday, December 16.
Furthermore, the commission urged all interested candidates to visit the official website www(dot)tsc(dot)go(dot)ke for more information.
"TSC wishes to advise all applicants that recruitment is free of charge," the commission alerted.
Under CEO Nancy Macharia, the commission advertised vacancies of 9,000 positions for permanent and pensionable terms of service for secondary school teachers.
It also announced 1,000 positions on permanent and pensionable terms of service for primary school teachers.
Other positions advertised announced included teachers' internship vacancies of 21, positions in junior secondary schools, and 4,000 positions in primary schools.
All interested candidates were advised to submit their applications through the website www(dot)tsc(dot)go(dot)ke and click on the careers tab.
Applicants can also visit the teachersonline(dot)tsc(dot)go(dot)ke for submissions that must include all the relevant documents.
The announcement followed the government's pledge to recruit 30,000 teachers for the academic year starting in 2023.
