MP Salasya Hospitalised for Overworking

Mumias East Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya revealed that he had taken a break from his duties after suffering exhaustion.

Speaking on Thursday, January 5, Salasya explained that he was no longer feeling well after overworking since he was elected into office

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the ever-jovial leader appeared worn out and was hospitalised for a period of two weeks.

“I am not feeling well at all. I will take a sabbatical rest from the ground for two weeks. Any attention from me will be taken care of by my constituency manager.

"I have been working day and night for the last two months.  I have not been sleeping. I have been overworked. Sometimes it is good to take a rest,” he announced.

He asked Kenyans to pray for his recovery since he longed to return to work for his constituents.

“Pray for me to recover. I am always afraid of injections but now here I am. I am always happy but you can see my face no longer looks happy,” he stated.

Democratic Action Party of Kenya party(DAP-K), which he is a member of, wished him a quick recovery following a busy period.

“Get Well soon. That was a busy schedule for the people of Mumias East,” the party wished him.

The Mumias leader ran a tight schedule evident from the many events he has been involved in since he took office..

He planned a tournament on New Year for his constituents before embarking on a fact-finding mission to see the impact and the feedback.

During the crossover celebration party, he held an event with his residents that was graced by a huge multitude.
