The Directorate of Criminal Investigation published the identities of four individuals linked to the recent attacks in the Coastal County of Lamu.

According to DCI's statement dated Friday, January 13, the four suspects are believed to have planned and orchestrated terror attacks that rocked the county recently.

DCI stated that the suspects were well-trained and dangerous and appealed to Kenyans to share information that would help them apprehend the suspects.

"The DCI is appealing to members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of the following terror suspects, linked to the Alshabab terror network and responsible for the recent attacks in Lamu County.

"The suspects who are trained, armed and dangerous have been linked to several acts of terror that have occurred in the country in the past. Members of the public are asked to provide information that may lead to their arrest," the DCI statement read in part.

According to DCI, the suspects are Abdullahi Banati, Maalim Ayman, Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir and Ramadhan Kioko.

In the recent attack believed to have been planned by the outlawed group, several houses were torched and residents injured in a dawn attack in Lamu.

The terror group had also targeted government projects in the area, including the Lamu Port South Sudan – Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) corridor project.

On Thursday, January 12, The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) condoled with the families of three engineers who were killed in a suspected terror attack in Bura East Sub County in Garissa.

"The KeNHA board, management, and staff condole with the bereaved families and stands with them in prayer wishing them the Almighty's strength during this difficult period," read part of the statement.

The area police bosses confirmed the incident assuring the families that they had launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects.

To scale up the war against terror, US Government announced a Ksh1.2 billion bounty to anyone with information on those responsible for the January 2019 Dusit D2 attack.

The US committed to helping the country tackle the headache of terror by collaborating with local law enforcement agencies.
