Sons of the late Ainakboi Member of Parliament, William Chepkut, exposed their uncles in a plot to disinherit them from their late father's multi-million property.
According to the two brothers who addressed the media on Friday, January 13, the sons accused their uncles of forcefully taking Ksh8 million which was raised during Chepkut's funeral.
Besides taking the Ksh8 million raised, they further accused Chepkut's brothers of forcefully possessing their father's Mercedes Benz.
The deceased wife, Milka Chepkut accused her in-laws of plotting to disinherit her too. She accused her in-laws of planning to evict her from their family mansion.
Christian Chepkut and Nicholas Chepkut reached out to President William Ruto to intervene over a scheme to disinherit them from their father's multi-million estate.
"We are being subjected to continuous attacks from the family. From stealing my father's Mercedes and the money which came from the contribution I heard was over Ksh8 million," Christian Chepkut stated.
"We have not received a single coin from the contribution which was raised during the burial ceremony," Christian added.
Nicholas also decried harassment from local police officers, who he claimed had blocked them from accessing their mother, who was apprehended on Thursday, January 12.
"We have been blocked from seeing our mother who is being accused of malicious damage. How can you destroy your own property," Nicholas wondered.
"I, therefore, ask President William Ruto to stand with us," he added.
According to the deceased wife, Milka Chepkut, her in-laws want to kick them out of a multi-million family mansion. She accused her in-laws of colluding with the police to stage a disinheritance row.
Before Chepkut was buried, Milka had filed an appeal at the Milimani Law Courts. In her application, she accused the deceased siblings of sidelining her in the burial arrangements.
"That having locked out the applicant from the burial arrangements of her late husband, the applicant has a well-founded apprehension that if the deceased is buried without involving her, her children and herself will not be able to give him a befitting send-off due to the current hostility," she complained to the court through her lawyer.
The mother of two argued that she was legally married to the lawmaker for 24 years after officially taking their vows in 1998.
The former Ainabkoi MP was pronounced dead on Saturday, October 8. Before his demise, he complained of a swollen leg, an injury traced to an incident a year ago.
