President William Ruto lost his temper during a thanksgiving event in Bomet County on Sunday, January 15, calling out on the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs).

A visibly angry Ruto summoned read riot act to the legislators from Kericho County for being obsessed and fighting power instead of driving a development agenda for the people.

Speaking during the interdenominational prayer service, the President lambasted the MCAs for wasting time dealing with meaningless issues.

"I can see others are still fighting for power. Kericho MCAs, stop being foolish, I am not impressed with the games you are playing.

Think about serving the people, shame on you. It is not time to fight for power. You are even losing a lot of time in the county assembly fighting each other,” he warned.

He further urged the leaders to unite with the government as he had shown the way and all he wanted is to develop the nation as fast as possible.

The commander-in-chief added that it was the mandate of every leader to serve Kenyans in the right way as they had voted them in after pleading for their votes.

“I came here to thank you for your votes on behalf of all the leaders. We came to you and borrowed votes and you trusted us. Thank you very much.

Because God granted us, we as leaders all had our mandate, Kenyans have done their part and we as leaders are now in debt to carry out developments to benefit them.

All leaders let's not lose our chances again. Let us unite. Let us changes the lives of Kenyans in all sectors,” he announced.

On January 13, chaos erupted in Kericho County Assembly after MCAs disagreed over House leadership.

Some of the MCAs were seen attacking each other as some tried quell the chaos. A lady was also heard screaming as she toppled over a chair while two men beside her were seemingly fighting.

The county assembly had held a special sitting to determine a new majority leader when the wrangles ensued.

Revisiting his trip to Nyanza, where he sealed deals with Nyanza leaders, Ruto stated that even if opposition existed, every Kenyan is equal and no one should fall into trap of being described as opposition.

He urged all leaders to treat Kenyans equally since they are the reason why they won in the August 2022 general election.

“I have been to Nyanza because I want it to be clear that all Kenyans are equal as they voted us as their leaders and others as opposition so that they can live in the right way.

My Nyanza's visit proofs that no Kenyan who belongs to the opposition because we are all under one government. Only leaders who are in opposition.

It is impossible to develop one part of Kenya in isolation from others. No one will be left behind. I want you to understand that we will develop very fast if every leader will do as he is expected wholeheartedly so that we can all participate in serving every Kenyan,” he noted.
