Lesedi Developers agreed to meet their client's demands after they hit the headlines for allegedly swindling over Ksh1 billion.

Speaking on Monday, January 16 at Coconut Grill hotel Thika where he met his clients following an intervention from Kameme FM presenter Muthee Kiengei, Lesedi Developer founder Geoffrey Kiragu promised to issue title deeds to them.

He took the blame that it was indeed true he had received money from investors and was yet to fulfil the promise of issuing them with land.

Kiragu who has faced public condemnation, however explained that he had also been delayed by the person he was purchasing the land from and had not conned anyone as widely reported.

“I never had any intention of conning Kenyans. I am the one who took your money to sell land to you.

I failed due to the delay from the person I was purchasing from since he had incomplete paperwork that's why we are yet to receive the title deeds. In 45 days I will have issued title deeds,” Kiragu explained.

Kiengei was accompanied by philanthropist Karangu Muraya and Kikuyu musician Muigai wa Njoroge, who acts as Lesedi’s influencer.

The influencers, who had also been accused of collaborating with Lesedi to con Kenyans, came out stated that they were not involved in the purported scam.

“We have been working with Lesedi for a long time to sell land to Kenyans but the land people are talking about is not part of our duties.

We actually don’t even know where it is located, that is why we had to meet Kiragu to make everything clear,” Karangu announced.

After complaints from Kenyans emerged, Kiragu referred to the Ksh1 billion amount reported to have been swindled from clients as ridiculous in his defense against the damning reports.

“The accusations being made against us are not only unfounded but also an injustice to our company's reputation. Real estate is a business that provides opportunities for investors to own property. Like all other ventures, there are evolving difficulties,” he expounded.

Lesedi Developers' case mirrored Bishop Gakuyo of Gakuyo's real estate firm, which was accused of conning Kenyans millions of shillings.
