In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Muraya affirmed that he was in good health and clarified that one of his friends was involved in a road crash on Wednesday, January 11.

Muraya, who is also a popular philanthropist, was celebrating his birthday on Wednesday with a couple of friends when the reports about his alleged accident broke.

“To all who are calling me, thank you for your concerns, we are all safe, my friend who accompanied me to my event got into an accident but he is safe,” he stated.

Earlier, the Kikuyu musician found himself at the centre of a heated discussion on the role he played as an influencer in advertising the property, with reports that Kenyans may have lost billions.

A section of Kenyans questioned the honesty of the influencers and their failure to conduct due diligence in establishing the legitimacy of the businesses before advertising to Kenyans.

However, Muraya in an earlier statement maintained that he was certain about the company’s legitimacy. He went on to absolve himself from the blame, arguing that it was never his intention to extort money from clients.

Further, he assured clients that the company was working towards finding a solution in the delays witnessed in the process of issuing title deeds to the affected customers.

"I want to confirm to you all that year 2021, I invested and Influenced for the Lesedi Group and like many other influencers, I can confirm to you that our contract was not to con Kenyans as I have seen many people referring to us," he noted in a statement.

"I can confirm to you that I will stand with all investors and as per our agreement with management you will either get your title deeds or refund as soon as possible," he added.

On Wednesday, the company's director refuted earlier reports that he had swindled over Ksh1 billion from Kenyans through his real estate consultancy company.

This even as the company and its associates received a backlash in a conversation that went viral for the better part of Wednesday.
