Expert Gives 6 Reasons Why Toyota TownAce Old Model Costs Ksh 1.2M

It is never a dull time on social media when Kenyans debate over various topics be it politics, general news or emerging issues.

That was the case when debate emerged over why the Toyota TownAce old model would cost over Ksh 1 million in the market yet they were second or third-hand models.



Most vouched for the old model for its durability, effectiveness and low maintenance cost while others decried its scarcity in the market.

A user by the name of Karanja Karongo an owner of the old model raved about it.

"One day I put this thing (TownAce) to the test and loaded 1.3 metric tons of tiles from the Industrial Area to Murang'a. He was eating Mûrang'a hills like yams!” he stated.

Another user, King Cognac recalled when the vehicle helped him move out.



“With this vehicle, you can vacate a one-bedroom house at a go,” he raved.

Brian Limo stated that the model can serve an entire generation.



“This vehicle is durable, most of its predecessors are either in garages or under a shed of a tree somewhere, they are also called millennials, they will cease to exist in the next 100 years.



I have owned one for ten years and it hits the road without any trouble,” he noted.

Car Expert Miller spoke to Kenyans.co.ke to explain why this is the case.

He concurred that indeed the TownAce old model was expensive to acquire despite its status in terms of year of manufacture.

“This vehicle can fetch over one million shillings for a second-hand, third hand and even a fourth hand. A clean used car mostly those used as couriers will demand even a high price tag,” he stated.



He further revealed that motorists mostly prefer those that run on petrol due to the cubic centimetres(cc ) capacity of 1.8L.



“They can carry heavy material with ease because of their 1.8L capacity and a reliable engine,



Maintenance costs are equally low, they are dubbed as a ‘micro-bus’ but perform services of a normal vehicle, he added.

Among other key benefits of Toyota TownAce include; Ideal for transporting goods, roomy boot space, accommodates up to 5 passengers, fuel efficient, versatile (available as a truck or van) and reliable and easy to maintain.



It is important to note that other vehicle models could cost more or less depending on their specifications.
