Diplomats and other top government agencies prefer the model also due to its convenience, durability and power to traverse different parts of the country.

However, most novice drivers fail to understand the differences between Prado models in the automotive industry. These types of Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) are synonymous with Japanese manufacturers.

Prado TX

Land Cruiser Prado TX is the most basic model in that family. According to car experts, it is considered the most affordable Prado in the market.

According to car enthusiast, Rotich MD, its characteristics include being fuel economy compared to other models. 

Toyota Prado TX models have five seats and a tow rating of 1,500 kilograms, powered by the 2.7-litre petrol engine. However, most 2008 models are diesel-powered.

TX SUV models have alloy rims, and the interior is covered by cloth.

Prado TXL

TXL is an advanced model having more powerful features than TX.

This model is fuel economy with a roomie cabin. TXL is also fitted with more advanced safety features than the TX model.

The model has four-cylinder gasoline engines and is turbo-charged, making it efficient and durable.

TXL models have more legroom, which makes them ideal for tall passengers.

Prado TZG

This is the only Japanese Prado with a diesel engine. It is fitted with kinematic suspension, driver's, passenger and side airbags.

Seat belts fitted in the car have standard tensioners with effort limiters.

Prado TZG is also fitted with safety planks and brake assists. Its body design provides energy absorption and dispersion of strike. 

Additional features include an anti-theft device air conditioner, cruise control, glass with UV filters and even a sunroof.

Others include leather seats, alloy rims, and toned glasses.

Australian models have GX, GXL and VX abbreviations on the rear.

Features of the GX model include a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

It also has 3 tonnes braked towing capacity.

Special features of Prado GX include Toyota safety sense with a pre-collision safety system with pedestrian detection (day and night), cyclist detection (day only), high-speed active cruise control (ACC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Auto High Beam (AHB) and Road Sign Assist (RSA).

Prado GXL

Prado GXL models have 7 seats with privacy glass on the rear windows and 3-zone climate air conditioning.

The model has a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The car is fitted with apple car play and a satellite navigation system for entertainment. Other than having a radio system, GXL models have nine speakers.

Prado VX

It is an upgrade of the Australian Prado model fitted with safety and power transmission systems.

Like other Australian Prado models, it is fitted with a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
