Former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura broke his silence after being left out by President William Ruto during his state appointments.

While appearing on NTV on Monday, January 23, Mwaura disclosed that he respected the decision made by the Head of State.

He further emphasised that he was still a diehard member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and losing out on the appointments could not stop him from supporting Ruto.

“I will leave that to Ruto because he is the one who has the mandate of choosing who he feels is right.

"I am a UDA diehard. I registered 17,000 people when I was vying for the MP position, opened two offices and employed four people to work for UDA,” he stated.

After the election, Mwaura applied for a position at the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) but lost to  Azimio la Umoja politician, Fatuma Gedi.

The former Senator also missed out on being nominated in the National Assembly where Kenya Kwanza bagged majority of the seats.

Mwaura admitted that supporting Ruto had cost him a lot in the political world as well as his personal life but maintained that he had no reason to regret for going through all that because he ended up on the winning side.

“I was actually sent away from the Senate for supporting UDA, and this brought a lot of trouble. I stayed out of the Senate for seven months, was accused of seven cases, (I suffered) traveling ban, and went to court more than 30 times.

"I went through all these because I believed Ruto’s government deserved it and I thank God that Ruto is the President of Kenya,” he noted.

Speaking about joining politics, he stated that he would never be shaken by anything as he was first appointed while still in school and therefore embraced politics at a young age.

"I got my first governmental appointment at 22 years while still at Kenyatta University in my second year, first semester," he explained.

In 2013, he was nominated by ODM as an MP to represent special interest groups — becoming the first MP with albinism in Kenya.

Referring to the recent rally from the opposition side, the former lawmaker also called on Raila to accept that the election period had already passed and asked him to move on.

“How was it possible for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) to rig election results in our favor of us while four commissions were on their side? You had the support of the previous government, then could the rigging be possible?” he questioned.
