"If I lack, those who depend on me will suffer a lot," an overwhelmed Nicholas Ojwang' could not hold back his tears as he reflected on his plight.

Born in a family of three, Ojwang took up the responsibility of taking care of his siblings and parents.

While narrating his plight to Phelix Makanda, Ojwang' noted that he dropped out of college in his second year of studies because of school fees arrears.

Ojwang' detailed how the uncle stopped paying for his sister's university studies in her First-year second semester.

His sister, who studies at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), did her examinations with a balance of Ksh25, 000.

"Her yearly fee is Ksh78,000. She has been served with a letter to clear Ksh78,000+ Ksh25,000 but I don't know where to start and end," his statement read in part.

Ojwang' resorted to using all of his Ksh10,000 savings to pay part of his sister's fee arrears.

He noted that in the past three months, he would do electrical connections during various fieldwork exercises. His employer, who found him the task, however, informed him that he would not be paid- a dire situation for Ojwang who accepted the offer to at least earn a few coins.

"He told me that he would teach me the field work but not pay me. I was encouraged because I wanted to gain a skill that would help me sort out these problems.

"Sometimes when the work is too much, he would give me Ksh300 or Ksh200. That's the money I used to save. Sometimes I would go without food in the house in order to reach my target," he noted.

To add to his woes, Ojwang' noted that his Ksh2,500 a month rent had crossed the deadline for over a week. He noted that he had promised his caretaker to pay by Friday, January 27- funds which he is yet to get.

While explaining his struggles at home, Ojwang' pointed out that his father is suffering from Diabetes and high blood pressure while his mother is also ailing.

"She (Ojwang's mother) called me today so that I send them something at least for drugs and food not knowing that I have used everything (Ksh10,000) that I had on my sister's," he stated.

Detailing his youngest sibling's woes, Ojwang affirmed that the Form 3 student also had fee balances and is unable to continue with his secondary education.

The firstborn urged well-wishers to aid him in a bid to cater to his family's plight.
