While narrating how the attack happened, Mugambi further indicated that he knew the identity of the assailants.

It was about 7.30 am in the morning as I was disembarking from my vehicle when two guys known to me approached me," the MCA told the press.

According to the UDA politician, the attackers got him unawares as he was not expecting them to assault him considering they knew each other.

The MCA further revealed that while he was being beaten up by one of the assailants, the other one tore his shirt and stole his watch.

“They were chanting ‘respect the governor’ as they beat me up,” a teary Mugambi told the press.

The MCA who is leading an onslaught against Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for his involvement with the Azimio la Umoja party further revealed that he had been forewarned that he will be beaten but ignored.

“I was given a warning that I will get roughed up but I did not imagine anyone will have the guts to do that. I pray that they do not kill me because I have a young family and a lot of dependents,” he pleaded.

While he fears being beaten up again, he vowed to continue with his working that he will not be intimidated by anyone from performing his mandate.

“No amount of intimidation can stop me from doing my oversight work,” he vowed.

The assault came two days after Mugambi and Nairobi County Minority Leader accused Governor Johnson Sakaja of funding Raila Odinga’s Kamukunji rally.

Mugambi indicated that he already reported the incident at the Central Police station, and obtained an O.B.
