Kevin Mboya, a digital media consultant who was dejected after travelling 500 kilometres to surprise his girlfriend, received a three-day holiday trip to Mombasa.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday, January 31, Expeditions Maasai Safaris Chief Executive Pancras Karema confirmed that Mboya had been awarded an all-expenses paid trip.
Karema explained that the trip would go a long way in helping the love-struck lad nurse his heartbreak.
"We will fly him to Mombasa for three days for an interrupted beach getaway with flights, accommodation, meals and all drinks on us. By the time he returns to Nairobi, he would have forgotten the lady who broke his heart," he stated.
While accepting a dummy of the holiday voucher, Mboya expressed gratitude to the safari company for providing him with a much-needed breather to heal.
"Thank you for extending this gift to me. It will help me get back on my feet and hopefully get a woman who deserves me,’’ he remarked.
Expeditions Maasai Safari carved a niche in the tour and travel industry, offering Safari drives to all parts of the country. It prided itself on organising expeditions to the Maasai Mara.
On January 30, the heartbroken man spoke to Kenyans.co.ke journalist, Brian Kimani, and disclosed that his time in Kwale was regrettable and he had not spoken to his girlfriend since leaving the county.
He intimated that he was not okay and would reveal further details of the counter when his conscience was clear.
Mboya made headwinds on January 26, when he shared with the public his journey to Kwale to surprise his girlfriend on her birthday.
With a banquette of flowers in hand, he kept the country on edge about how the surprise would go but gave no update for four days.
To date, the post has received over 6.7 million views with over 4,000 comments with influencers and notable people seeking to know what transpired.
Mboya would show up on January 29 with his bouquet of flowers in hand explaining that his trip to the coastal town had been unsuccessful as the lady he was going to surprise did not show up.
