Teachers from  Itumbe Primary School confessed to recording the disturbing video of male pupils forced to position themselves inappropriately and sharing it amongst themselves.

While addressing the media on Thursday, February 2, the police officer noted that investigations were ongoing to determine the reason behind the video.

"When we went to the school, we established that the institution was the source of the video. One of the teachers confessed that she shared the same clip with her colleague," the police disclosed.

The video reportedly was shared around the teaching fraternity at the Itumbe Primary School and neighbouring schools before it went viral.

Consequently, the teachers were arrested on Wednesday, February 1, and held at the Nyamatia Police Station before being arraigned on Thursday, February 2. 

"Currently we are recording the statements of the minors. Grade two pupils who were the victims of the act will get justice," he assured.

Furthermore, police sought to hold the suspects for an additional seven days to record statements from the minors and other stakeholders. 

"We confiscated their phone before questioning them. One of them noted that a pupil had reported to them about what they did during break time. The teachers added that they only wanted to pupils to demonstrate what they were doing," explained Nyamache Sub-County Police Boss Kipkemoi Kipkulei.

The viral video attracted the attention of the Education Cabinet Secretary, Ezekiel Machogu, who ordered the suspects to face disciplinary action.

Machogu, on Thursday, February 2, emphasised that if found guilty, the teachers would lose their jobs.

In the video, the boys were heard crying while posing indecently as the teachers watched and laughed while seated. 

Furthermore, the teachers who spoke in the local dialect threatened to beat the students if they failed to comply with the orders.
