Philanthropist Karangu Muraya has been coming to the aid of needy Kenyans for a long time. Using his online platform, Karangu built houses for the homeless, raised money for the sick and rescued struggling families.

While speaking on February 2, during an interview with YouTuber Sammy Gitonga, Karangu shared his journey on how he became a renowned philanthropist in Kenya.

His passion for helping the poor would force him to close his cosmetic business and beg for help along the roads.

Karangu admitted that the journey had not been easy and as matter of fact, he had met people who went against his ministry.

“I was operating a cosmetic shop. If I ever heard of a case of a struggling person, I would walk around with a plate begging for support from people. I would stand at a busy matatu stage pleading for financial assistance,” he noted.

Karangu noted that he was proud to see where he had come from and was hoping to raise to great channels.

“I am happy that God took me from there and now using an online channel to continue living my dream. Although not everyone supports me, I believe I will make it to higher heights,” he stated.

Revisiting his most challenging case, Karangu narrated how he came across a case that left him so broken after meeting a woman who had been bedridden for 15 years after breaking her spinal cord.

“The lady would sleep on a couch while she had a big house just because she could not move. She lay on that couch for the whole period of fifteen years. Her family would just change her diapers as they had also lost hope.

Through my platform, I was able to raise more than  Ksh7 million for her medication in India and today she is a walking miracle. She is my living testimony,” the philanthropist added.

He recently came to the rescue of a young boy, Maina, who went viral after explaining his woes.

Karangu announced that one of his friends had volunteered to donate Ksh300,000 to build a good house for Maina and his family of eleven. He has been sharing photos of the new house which is already under construction.

“I am Maina and I attend Wakorino church. I only tie the turban on Sundays because the pastor is only a friend, my God is in heaven.

I am in class one and I work in the market in mitumba business with my friend Kamau. After getting paid I take the money to my mother,” the young Maina explained.

He also came to the aid of the famous actor, Wandahuhu, who was languishing in povertyWandahuhu was offered a 50 by 100 plot worth Ksh600,000 at Kangundo road to build a house.
