Nairobi, Kiambu to Experience Rains and Cold Weather This Week

The Kenya Meteorological Department has predicted that four regions will experience continued rain between Tuesday, August 5, and Saturday, August 9.

In its weekly forecast, the department stated that parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Southeastern Lowlands, and the Rift Valley are expected to receive rainfall during this period.

On the other hand, the Coastal regions, Southeastern Lowlands, and North-Eastern and North-Western regions are likely to be hit by strong southerly to south-easterly winds, with speeds exceeding 25 knots, according to the weatherman.

It is predicted that Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties will experience sunny intervals in the morning throughout the week, showers in the afternoons, and cloudy conditions for most nights.

According to the weather forecast, maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to reach 27°C, while the minimum will be 6°C.

Throughout the week, Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties are expected to experience daylong sunny intervals and cloudy conditions during the night, according to the forecast.

The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 30°C, while the minimum will be 9°C.

It is predicted that Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, will experience daylong sunny intervals and cloudy conditions at night.

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperature in these areas is expected to be 30°C, while the minimum will be 20°C.

According to the forecast, rain and showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected to affect Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties throughout the day and night.

According to Kenya Met, the maximum temperature in these counties is expected to be 30°C, while the minimum will be 7°C.

Turkana and Samburu counties are likely to experience showers during the day and night throughout the week. The maximum temperature is expected to be 35°C, while the minimum will be 8°C.

According to the department, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties are expected to experience day-long sunny intervals and cloudy conditions at night. The maximum temperatures in these regions are expected to reach 35°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be 14°C.
