President William Ruto revealed intricate details of the meeting with over 30 Jubilee MPs at State House, Nairobi on Tuesday, February 8.

In a statement sent to Kenyans.co.ke, Ruto affirmed that it was inevitable for leaders to work together, noting that "the people who elected you are the same people who elected us."

The leaders agreed that it was time to put political differences aside and work for the people.

"You have a right to make choices as Kenya is a democratic country. You are now our members and we will treat you as such," the President stated.

The head of state noted that Parliament is a critical platform for enacting laws on the Government’s agenda.

"We will be seeking your support on Bills and regulations on the Housing Fund, Water Purchasing Agreements, among others," he pointed out.

The leaders affirmed their party has a close relationship with the President, and all they have done is "to come back home."

Adding the efforts to enforce drought mitigation measures, the president pointed out that he would scale up food and water provision on Monday, February 13.

Balambala MP Omar Shurie, Eldas MP Adan Keynan and Isiolo Women Representative Fatuma Dullo led the legislators.

Others included John Waluke (Sirisia), Mark Mwenje (Embakasi West), Sabina Chege (Nominated), Stanley Muthama (Lamu West) and Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji).

While responding to the State House meeting, Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni stated that disciplinary actions were already being taken as the lawmakers would be called to answer charges against them.

"I am not in support of the meeting. Attempts to get my opinion on the matter were denied by the members.

"Disciplinary measures have commenced against the members as we speak," he noted.

Kioni also pointed out that the move by Ruto to woo Jubilee MPs was a plot to weaken the opposition and ensure no dissenting voices in his regime.
