Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga detailed that Azimio la Umoja hired international IT gurus to ethically hack Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers in search of the truth over the 2022 General Election.

Speaking during an interview on Ramogi TV on Monday, February 13, the ODM party boss detailed that the hackers were tasked with investigating the alleged manipulation of results of the 2022 polls.

Raila added that the experts came to the country with machines and set base in the Athi River area.

"We personally looked for IT gurus from abroad who could do investigations. There is something called ethical hacking - which is done with good intentions. They came with their own machines and they were located in Athi River," Raila divulged.

Upon commencing their investigation, the former premier added that the team was forced to shift their location to avoid being traced

"They were also being traced because once they got in the servers they could be seen. Sometimes they went to Kiambu and then to Narok for one month to seek the truth and they found it," Raila asserted

Raila also asserted that after receiving the full report on what transpired, he decided to keep the report secret because he did not want to speak on the matter by himself, as people would have doubted him.

Luckily, he indicated that an IEBC whistleblower leaked details of what transpired prior to the announcement of the polls while he was on tour to South Africa, hence the commencement of the Azimio rallies.

Pact with Uhuru

On this pact with Uhuru, Raila revealed they both agitated for a free and fair election. In the agreement, none of them was to be involved in rigging the polls.

Additionally, other officials were tasked with ensuring that their competitors did not manipulate the polls - a move he stated flopped.

"When I was with him, we agreed that the election would not be interfered with in any way because we knew we would win. There were no plans to rig, which is the MOU we signed with Uhuru.

"He knows what happened, and people may ask why he did not help, yet he was the President. What happened is that there were people who were supposed to do something, and they did not," he stated.

Raila added that he maintains a close relationship with Uhuru despite his international role in peacekeeping missions in Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The two held their first-ever joint rally since August 9, 2022, General Election, on Saturday, February 11, in Vihiga and Kisumu counties.
