Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday, January 19, announced that the Azimio Coalition will give directions regarding the alleged rigging evidence it obtained once its leader, Raila Odinga, returns from his South African trip.
Speaking during a presser in Nairobi, the Azimio principal claimed that the coalition was in possession of more evidence supporting the claims of rigging during the August 2022 election - in which President William Ruto emerged as the victor.
The Wiper leader also showered praises on the whistleblowers who allegedly volunteered the information to his coalition, describing them as patriotic.
According to the former Vice President, the volunteers braved the risk of exposing the activities within the coalition for the interest of the nation.
"There are more revelations in our possession that will unearth the filth in the 2022 General Election. This was not an election but a sham.
"We want to commend the IEBC whistleblowers who now enjoy full protection under the law for bringing this to the public. These are the real heroes," he stated.
When asked why his side failed to present the allegations during the petition against President William Ruto's win, Kalonzo stated that the information was not available to the coalition at the time of filing.
“The data that we shared with Kenyans in regard to election outcome was not available to us when we filed the presidential petition in August last year,” he noted.
The statement by Kalonzo came a day after Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni alleged that a democracy crusader based in the United States provided evidence of massive manipulation of the polls.
He alleged that Azimio candidate in the election won with over eight million votes, contrary to the final results released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on August 15, 2022.
The allegations added another episode of the contradictory stances taken by the antagonist factions since the elections were declared.
On its part, the Kenya Kwanza has reiterated its stance that there were attempts to coerce the commissioners to moderate the results.
