US First Lady Jill Biden disembarked from Air Force Two at 4:47 pm at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday, February 25 - a few minutes after touching down.

Air Force Two, which is also known as the C-32, is the plane that is used to ferry the US Vice President, the First Lady and the members of Cabinet and Congress.

The plane is a configured version of the Boeing 757-200 and is installed with high-security systems given the high-level delegates aboard.

According to the US Air Force, the plane has a ground proximity warning system and a traffic collision avoidance system which warns the pilots of any impending threats on air or while on the ground.

"Weather systems are enhanced with a predictive wind shear warning system. Other items include the future air navigation system with global positioning and flight management system/electronic flight instrument system

"Because the C-32 is a high-standing aircraft, it is easier to see under and around it – an important security factor for protecting the plane and its passengers," the Airforce stated on its website.

Dimensionally, the plane weighs 115,668 kilograms. Its length is 47.32 meters while the height from the ground is 11.02 meters.

Inside the plane, C-32 is divided into four sections with the primary passenger, Jill, hosted in the second section.

Section one has 10 business class seats, a toilet, and a communication centre for the passengers.

In the second section - where Jill was hosted - has amenities such as a private toilet, a changing room and a convertible divan that can be changed to a bed at night.

Other features in this section include a private entertainment system and swivel seats.

"The third section contains the conference and staff facility with eight business class seats. while the rear section of the cabin contains general seating with 32 business-class seats, a galley, two toilers and closets," read the C-32 review.

Additionally, inside the plane, Jill and her entourage can also communicate with the outside world given the complex communication system installed on the plane.

"The decision-makers can conduct business anywhere around the world using improved telephones, satellites, television monitors, facsimiles and copy machines. The C-32 has state-of-the-art avionics equipment.

"It can travel twice the distance on the same amount of fuel, and operate on shorter runways down to 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) in length.," the Air Force stated.
