Local commercial flight airline Fly748 has suspended its services in the country.

In a press release dated Tuesday, February 28,  Managing  Director  Moses Mwangi confirmed that the airline would cease domestic flights in Kenya.

"We regret to inform you that we have resolved to suspend all our domestic scheduled flights effective March 1," the release read in part.

Mwangi explained that the decision was reached upon following an extensive review of the company's business strategy.

However, he confirmed that the planes registered under the airline would be used to execute other functions listed in the company's profile.

"We have opted to focus on our core business, Humanitarian Aviation, currently operating in seven African countries," the MD wrote.

Furthermore, the company allayed fears of clients who had booked flights in advance that the money would be lost following the developments.

"Our ARS system will remain open until June 30 to allow processing of funds for all the advanced tickets paid," the statement read in part.

The airline thanked its clientele and the Kenyan market for their continued support during the two years they have been in operation in the country.

Fly 748 Services Limited began domestic commercial flight operations on May 20, 2021, offering affordable air travel to several destinations in the country.

The airline began operations with only five planes and Mwangi was charged with assembling a collection of planes to expand its flight.
