"I thank the DCI for his quick action on this matter. The homicide team from the DCI headquarters is dispassionate, which will help resolve the claims of collusion at Kasarani Police Station where the matter was reported," he added.

On Friday, March 10, DCI issued a statement, assuring the public that the homicide department was working promptly to solve the case.

"The public is assured that no stone shall be left unturned in the investigation of this case and any person found to have been involved in the death shall face the full force of the law," DCI stated.

In addition, the public was urged to give any information that may assist in the case to volunteer to the head of Homicide.

Jeff Mwathi reportedly jumped through the window from the popular vernacular DJ's apartment.

Allegedly, the 23-year-old interior designer was with the artist and his friends, and they visited four nightclubs before heading home.

The group spent the night at an apartment in Safari Park Estate before the artist left Mwathi with his cousin and others.

However, according to CCTV footage, the artist's cousin, in the company of another, went downstairs and was seen surveying the area before heading up to the apartment room.

According to reports, Mwathi's body was seen flying from the 12th floor and landing on the concrete floor minutes later. The incident occurred at around 5.47 am in late February 2023.

His body was rushed to the morgue, and reportedly no medical examination was conducted since it was past 72 hours.

He was later buried at his rural home with friends and families demanding justice
