Ex-Citizen TV Actor Kenneth Ambani Takes Over Mombasa CEC Job

Former Citizen TV actor Kenneth Ambani on Tuesday, March 14, took an oath of office as a Chief Executive Committee (CEC) member of Mombasa County.

The former Makutano Junction, which aired on Citizen TV,  talent was appointed by Governor Abdulswamad Nassir to the Public Service Administration, Youth, Gender, Social Services, and Sports docket.

In a statement dated  Wednesday, March 15, the veteran actor thanked the Governor for the trust bestowed on him even as he expressed optimism over his new job in the county.

"Out of the several million Kenyans, you appointed me to be among your 10 CECMs. I don't take that for granted sir! Thank you, Governor Nassir. Ready to serve Mombasa, so help me God," he stated.

On his part, the Governor noted that Ambani's appointment alongside his colleagues was timely as he moved to implement his development plan in the Coastal county.

"I am proud to announce that Mombasa County now has a fully functional cabinet comprising of able County Executive Committee Members who I believe will bring the change that Mombasa needs.

"The real work of transformation has just begun. Let us put our political differences aside and bring change," Nassir stated. 

Following his appointment, Kenyans congratulated the actor on his new role with many noting that he was up to the task.

"Deeply proud of my senior in the industry Kenneth Ambani. God is never asleep. I am proud of you senior. May God increase you in your new role. Congratulations," Alliwah Kenya stated.

 

Ambani has been in the media industry for many years and has acted in a number of movies.

Some of the movies include; Wingu la Moto, Cobra Squad, Mali, Pamela, and From a Whisper among any more.

Notably, the award-winning actor also features on Kovu - a soap opera which is produced by Citizen TV anchors Rachid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan.

The newly sworn-in CEC is also the founder and CEO of Mafiga Africa Communication Ltd.
