The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Tuesday, March 28, unveiled dates for applications of 1,300 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) trainers across the country.
In a statement, the PSC noted that the application process was open for all qualified individuals interested in the vacancies. The deadline for application was pegged at April 17, 2023.
The announcement follows a declaration from President William Ruto, on March 23, to hire tutors and curb the shortage in some government institutions.
"We will convert our TVET institutions into digital academic organisations. In phase one, we will distribute computers in 100 TVETs and ensure that every academic organisation has a digital laboratory,' Ruto added.
How to Apply
According to PSC, all interested candidates must hold a degree, higher diploma, or diploma from a recognised institution.
From the list of vacant positions countrywide, 588 degree holders, 398 holders of higher diplomas, and 314 trainers with a diploma are required.
All interested and qualified persons are requested to submit their applications directly to the institutions where vacancies exist by filing one PSC (Revised 2016) application form.
Applicants were also urged to attach copies of a National ID card, academic and professional certificates, transcripts, and any other testimonials.

Meanwhile, the deadline for submissions was scheduled for April 17, 2023, latest at 5 pm.
"Successful candidates will be required to apply for licensing and registration by the TVET Authority," read part of the statement.
Some of the listed 220 TVET institutions across the country include Kabete National Polytechnic, Lang'ata Technical and Vocational College, Kenya School of TVET, and Kiambu Insitute of Science and Technology among others.
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on March 3 urged the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions to restructure TVET training to competence-based skilling.
"The government is intentional in expanding the TVET sub-sector to create job opportunities and meet the increasing demand for skilled labour," Machogu disclosed.
