“A group of prospective investors drawn from various countries across the world has declared intent to launch mega investment projects in the county and Machakos County in particular.

“The declaration was a culmination of my strategic engagement with them in line with my government's development agenda,” Governor Ndeti noted.

The King gave Ksh2 million to improve a gender-based violence centre for women, Ksh3 million for a revolving fund for the youth, and Ksh3 million to children with a disability.

Governor Ndeti mentioned that the investors would partner with the county of Machakos in fields such as establishing various industries in the existing industrial parks, agriculture, health, water and sanitation, infrastructure, and learning institutions among other priority areas.

She added that the projects would kick off in the coming months and were billed to change her county for the better.

On the other hand, King Adeyeye committed to investing in affordable housing and civil works in the next 180 days.

The full name of the king, including styles and titles, is His Imperial Majesty, Oba, Dr. Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja, II, the Ooni of Ife-Ife.

Ooni of Ife-Ife means he is the traditional ruler of Ife-Ife and the spiritual head of the Yoruba people.

The 48-year-old monarch is the 51st Ooni ascended to the throne in 2015.

In October 2022, he was awarded the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) by the then-president of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.
