A bus belonging to Karega Secondary School was on Friday, March 31, involved in a grisly road accident along Narumoru-Nanyuki Highway
Witnesses noted that the bus, which was heading to the nearby town, rolled severally along the highway that connects Laikipia to Nanyuki town.
Police officers from Nanyuki town rushed to the scene of the accident to re-direct traffic on both sides of the highway since the bus had blocked most parts of the highway.
Emergency medical service providers reported to the scene promptly and offered first aid to the victims of the crash.
Some of the victims of the accident were quickly evacuated to nearby hospitals in Nanyuki for specialised treatment
Authorities, later, advised motorists plying the route to consider using Mweiga road instead of taking the same highway after traffic began building up
The accident came just months after parents and teachers from the school celebrated the purchase of the new bus that was launched on June 11, 2022.
