Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni's son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on Saturday, April 1, alleged that his father turned down his request to protect the Northlands farm in Kiambu County associated with the family of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Muhoozi claimed he approached his father with concerns about the raid on the farm and loss of property.

The President's son added that he sought permission to deploy Uganda People's Defence Force to guard the farm.

"I asked Mzee to deploy me as the OC (Officer Commanding) at Northland. All we need is 200 UPDF soldiers to bring order," Muhoozi's statement read in part.

"He refused," he further stated while condemning the attack on the farm during the Azimio anti-government protests.

Muhoozi also castigated the attackers while imploring President William Ruto's administration to narrow down on individuals accused of looting public property.

"My big brother's farm was attacked by hooligans the other day. We will send UPDF to protect him," Muhoozi claimed in one of his recent controversial posts.

His sentiments came after the National Police Service pledged to pursue invaders of the farm. Explaining their delayed response, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki indicated that police were focused on Azimio protests in other parts of the country.

In October 2022, Muhoozi sparked controversy over his plans to capture Nairobi.  He claimed it would take two weeks for him and his army to capture Nairobi.

His tweets sparked a diplomatic storm, especially with President William Ruto then expected to tour Kampala for the annual Uganda Manufacturers Association.

However, Museveni apologised to Kenya following Muhoozi's sustained attacks and plans to take over Nairobi.

"I ask our Kenyan brothers and sisters to forgive us for tweets sent by General Muhoozi, former Commander of Land Forces here, regarding the election matters in that great country," Museveni stated.

"It is not correct for Public officers, be they civilian or military, to comment or interfere in any way, in the internal affairs of brother countries," he added.
