General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday, December 3 made new demands to Kenya.

The general announced that he pitied Kenya terming it as his beloved third country.

Muhoozi, who is not new to diplomatic controversy, claimed that Kenya as a country cannot survive without Uganda.

“I pity Kenya my beloved 3rd country, it is impossible for Kenya to survive without Uganda,” the general stated.

The president’s son further claimed that some parts of the country rightfully belonged to Uganda.

“We want what is rightfully ours and that is why Westlands should be renamed as Kololo,” Muhoozi stated in a tweet that was later pulled down on Sunday, December 4.

This is not the first time that Muhoozi is making controversial claims about the independence and sovereignty of Kenya.

“It wouldn't take us, my army and me, 2 weeks to capture Nairobi,” Muhoozi remarked on October 8, 2022.

Ugandan government later clarified Muhoozi’s statement stating that Kenya and Uganda enjoy cordial diplomatic relations.

Kampala further stated that the Ugandan government does not use Twitter platform to communicate its foreign policy.

“We do not conduct our affairs on social media and we assure Kenya that Kampala is committed to the long-standing good neighbourliness that has existed for decades,” a statement from Uganda’s foreign ministry read in part.

After the controversial tweets, Muhoozi was dropped as the Commander of Uganda’s Land Forces, he was later promoted to the rank of full general.
